Terms of Service
Last updated: October 7, 2026
Cross Stitch (thecrossstitch.com) is operated by A.B. DIGITAL HORIZON SYNDICATE LIMITED (“we”, “us”). By using the website, the pattern maker or your account you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
The service
- Cross Stitch turns a photo you provide into a counted cross stitch pattern matched to DMC threads. Cropping, the preview and the pattern are made in your browser, and trying them is free.
- A printable PDF pattern (grid, symbol key, thread list and estimates) is delivered as a digital download when you unlock it with credits.
- Colors on screen and on paper can differ from real thread, and the DMC palette cannot reproduce every color. Check the thread colors before you buy floss.
Your account
- You sign in with Google. You are responsible for what happens under your account, so keep your Google account secure.
- You can ask us to remove your photos, saved patterns or account data at any time by emailing privacy@thecrossstitch.com.
Credits and prices
- You get 3 free credits when you create an account. Each new pattern PDF costs 1 credit. Downloading a pattern you already unlocked again, including on another paper size, is free.
- Changing the photo, the crop, the stitch width or the maximum number of colors creates a new pattern and uses 1 credit.
- You can buy two one-time credit packs: 60 credits for $3 and 140 credits for $6, in US dollars. There is no subscription, nothing renews automatically and credits do not expire.
- Credits have no cash value, cannot be transferred or exchanged for money, and are used only to unlock patterns on this website. The checkout shows the final amount, including any taxes, before you pay.
Payments
- Orders are processed by our payment provider Paddle, which is the merchant of record and authorised reseller for purchases made here. Paddle’s Buyer Terms apply to your transaction.
- Your card or payment details are entered in Paddle’s checkout. We never see or store them.
- Purchased credits are added to your account after Paddle confirms the payment, normally within moments.
Refunds
Please read our Refund Policy. It explains your statutory rights and how to request a refund through Paddle.
Your photos and patterns
- Only use photos you have the right to use. We do not check ownership, and you are responsible for the images you upload.
- You keep your rights in your photos. You give us permission to process and store them as described in our Privacy Policy, only to run the service and understand how it is used.
- The PDF pattern is for your own personal stitching. We do not claim ownership of the artwork in your photo.
- DMC is a trademark of its owner. Cross Stitch is not affiliated with or endorsed by DMC. See Licenses & credits.
Acceptable use
- Do not use the service for anything unlawful, to upload images that infringe someone else’s rights, or to harm others.
- Do not attack, overload or scrape the service, bypass credits, or try to access other people’s accounts or data.
- We may suspend or close an account that breaks these rules.
Availability and liability
- We work to keep the service running but do not promise it will always be available or error-free. Features can change.
- To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for losses beyond the amount you paid us for the purchase concerned.
- Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be excluded by law or your mandatory consumer rights.
Changes
We may update these terms and will change the date above when we do. A change in prices never reduces credits you already hold.
