What is in this flower collection

The collection has 12 designs: lavender, lily of the valley, tulip, cherry blossom, sunflower, red rose, daisy, poppy, flower bouquet, lotus, potted geranium, and flower wreath. Each square of the chart is one stitch and blank squares are fabric you leave unstitched, so every flower keeps the look of pixel art.

The charts run from 255–2,811 stitches and go up to 74 stitches wide. The smallest, the lavender, finishes at about 2.7 × 6.5 cm (14 ct) and the largest, the flower wreath, at about 13.4 × 13.1 cm (14 ct). These are sizes for a small hoop, a card, a gift tag or a framed picture.

New to cross stitch? Start with a single bloom on a stem: few colors, short rows and a shape you recognise as you stitch. Keep the bouquet and the wreath for when you want a piece to frame.

Which level should you start with?

Levels come from the real size of each chart, not a guess: the stitches and colors of the patterns on this page.

How to stitch a flower pattern

  1. Pick a design and a sizeThe grid is sorted from easiest to hardest. The smallest is the lavender: 255 stitches in 5 colors, about 2.7 × 6.5 cm (14 ct).
  2. Print on A4 at 100%Open the PDF and print without “fit to page”, so the grid keeps its scale.
  3. Gather the flossThe legend pairs every symbol with a DMC code: buy one skein per color. Use 14 count Aida and 2 strands of floss, as in the finished sizes on the cover.
  4. Start in the middleFold the fabric in half twice to find its center, and start near the middle of the chart, so the design ends up centered.
  5. Stitch one color at a timeCount from the center and check each row against the bold lines of the chart, which mark every 10 stitches. Squares without a symbol stay unstitched.
