What is in this Christmas collection
The collection has 13 designs: candy cane, stocking, tree, bauble, gift, Santa hat, star, gingerbread man, snowflake, wreath, reindeer, snowman, and gingerbread house. Each square of the chart is one stitch and blank squares are fabric you leave unstitched, so the shapes keep the look of pixel art.
The charts run from 470–1,496 stitches and go up to 51 stitches wide. The smallest, the candy cane, finishes at about 1.4 × 3.1 in (14 ct) and the largest, the gingerbread house, at about 3.4 × 3.2 in (14 ct). These are sizes for a small hoop, a card, an ornament or a garland.
If Christmas is close, start with a smaller chart: fewer stitches and colors mean fewer skeins to buy and less to count, and a small design is quick to finish.
Which level should you start with?
Levels come from the real size of each chart, not a guess: the stitches and colors of the patterns on this page.
- Easy
- 5 patterns · 470–704 stitches · 3–5 DMC colors · up to 30 stitches wide.
- Start here for a first chart or a small, uncomplicated project; the chart takes a single A4 page.
- Medium
- 8 patterns · 601–1,496 stitches · 3–7 DMC colors · up to 51 stitches wide.
- More colors and detail; the chart takes 1–2 A4 pages.
How to stitch a Christmas pattern
- Pick a design and a sizeThe grid is sorted from easiest to hardest. The smallest is the candy cane: 470 stitches in 3 colors, about 1.4 × 3.1 in (14 ct).
- Print on A4 at 100%Open the PDF and print without “fit to page”, so the grid keeps its scale.
- Gather the flossThe legend pairs every symbol with a DMC code: buy one skein per color. Use 14 count Aida and 2 strands of floss, as in the finished sizes on the cover.
- Start in the middleFold the fabric in half twice to find its center, and start near the middle of the chart, so the design ends up centered.
- Stitch one color at a timeCount from the center and check each row against the bold lines of the chart, which mark every 10 stitches. Squares without a symbol stay unstitched.
